Lake Bonney Sporting Clays shooting ground is situated on the Canada Frontage , 1683 Frontage Road,

just out of Millicent in the South East of SA.

The shooting grounds are leased from local resident and founding club member Colin Whitehead.

The club was established in 1999 by a small group of local men who had been regularly meeting on Colin’s property to shoot a few clays.

The group obtained Wattle Range Council, Firearms Branch and EPA approval to establish a shooting club and affiliated themselves with the SA Field and Game Association. The club rooms were built and a monthly program was drawn up.

Over the following 17 years the club has grown substantially both in size and membership. The club regularly has between 70 -100 shooters attend the monthly shoots from all over the SE and the state.

It has run a total of sixteen 2 day shoots in September each year where there can be in excess of 150 shooters attend both days from across the state and interstate.

In recent years there has also been a 2 day event in May incorporating a side by side shoot, this has been well attended attracting state and interstate shooters.

As part of its affiliation with SAFGA Lake Bonney has also held State Qualifying shoots at different times over the past few years.

LBSC has a current total of 103 financial members from all over the Wattle Range council area as well as locations outside of the council boundaries including, Carpenters Rocks, Mt. Gambier, Binnum, Kalgoorlie, Roxby Downs, Adelaide, Glencoe and Pt. MacDonnell. Men and Women ranging from as young as 8 years old to 80+.
